Chart data in the UK confirms that in just over a year, Nintendo's latest handheld will be celebrating its first million milestone.
Earlier this week Gfk Chart-Track data confirmed that after 61 weeks on the market, the 3D gaming beast has picked up 950,000 new owners at an average price of £202. The original, rather clunky Nintendo DS, managed to reach the million mark a tad bit quicker in only 51 weeks, however did retail at a significantly cheaper price point.
At the beginning of 2012, Nintendo confirmed that the 3DS had become the fastest selling console to date, worldwide.
Despite a slow start, the Nintendo 3DS still dominates a large chunk of the handheld gaming scene, with only a whisper of competition from Sony's new PlayStation Vita - which has sold around 100,000 units since touching down in Britain over 10 weeks ago.
