E3 2012 Media | Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate Debut Trailer on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The debut trailer for Castlevania on the 3DS has risen from Konami's chambers in time for E3. Crack the whip!

Nintendo's 3D portable will be getting an entry in the Lords of Shadow series - a direct sequel to the console original, with gameplay similar to Dawn of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia. There'll be plenty of whip cracking, oil throwing and axe wielding as players control one of four characters at pre-determined points - including Trevor and Simon Belmont.

The game itself plays primarily in a 2D plane (with polygon/3D graphics), occasionally shifting into 2.5 and 3D sections.

The E3 trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate awaits.

It looks excellent.

I'm quite impressed with what I've seen so far, and I like that they are tying Lords of Shadow into the whole Castlevania mythos, even if it isn't exactly in line with the timeline we all know (I'm assuming it isn't, don't know for sure).

Regardless, like I said in a previous post to a story, I've yet to be disappointed by a Castlevania game, even the four non-2D games that were released. I believe I'll be impressed with this one as well.
