E3 2012 Media | Fight Twice as Big with Snoop Dogg in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Tekken Tag Tournmanet 2 heads to Wii U, but with some Mario mushroomy goodness thrown in!

A brief clip of the next Tekken game was shown at Nintendo's E3 press conference today, and it looks like there'll be some interesting elements making their way into the game. A bird handed a Mega Mushroom to Heihachi, turning him into a giant after grabbing it, which gave him the power to make his opponent smaller when he hit him. Perhaps more Mario or Nintendo-related items that dish out new mechanics will be revealed eventually, too?

In some quite unexpected news, also, American rapper Snoop Dogg is getting his very own stage in the game. A trailer released by Namco Bandai today shows the hip hop singer chilling in a chair with some girls either side as fighters duke it out in a bling-filled arena in front of him. The trailer doesn't mention the Wii U, but it's likely this will still be in the next Nintendo console's version, as well as the PS3 and Xbox 360 games. Have a look at the trailer below.

Additionally, see the first official screenshot of the Wii U game released by Namco Bandai today.

Lol. What a crazy mash up. I wonder what the purist fans of tekken will make of this.

Dissapointing - seen snippets in the Wii U trailer, looks like a PS2 game, to me. Low end Xbox.

Fighting games are officially dead now.

Takes me back to DefJam Fight for NY, what came next in the series is what killed it.

I wonder why they gave Snoop a stage, is it cause he has music for the game? The game seems to be a mash up of alot of things, hopefully the end product is good.

What the heeeeell? I'm now more discusted with this series than I was before...has Namco lost all self respect to sink so low as to include a R.etard A.ttempting P.athetic P.oetry E.ntirely at R.andom?

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Yeah alot of the hate seems to be more about there being a rapper in the game. I'm interested to see if there are any more Nintendo items thrown into the middle of fights.

Snoop Dog is known for being a long-time Tekken fan so it makes sense why both he and Namco would do this. Still, I never been a fan of him or his rap music (and while on the subject, I'm not a fan of rap music in general these days) so I don't care much for this.
