E3 2012 Media | Visit Exotic Locations Using the Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Ever felt like you wanted to venture to an exotic location whilst in the comfort of your living room? Nintendo has the answer in the new Wii U software, Panorama View (working title).

The game plays a video setting on the TV screen of these tropical, exquisite locations that you've only dreamt about and the Wii U GamePad becomes your eyes, allowing viewers to look around the scene from a different angle to what's being shown on screen for a more natural way of exploring gorgeous landscapes and other digital content.

You can then zoom in on things/scenes that catch your eye.

At the end of the experience the three most popular views that held your attention the most will be shown. You can even record your viewing experience and share this with family/friends. One may be more interested in the sky, another perhaps having a lingering look at bikini-clad ladies or a player maybe floor obsessed.

Meh, this seems useless. Unless somehow you can somehow upload pictures or panoramas to the WiiU and explore from there.

Crap like this really annoys me.

I actually thought this looked pretty interesting. Smilie

Yeah me too, this has so much potential. Imagine playing Endless Ocean 3 this way! One player could just play the game while the second looks around with the Pad.

This is just pointless to be honest! It is another idea put into the controller that will end up appearing in hardly any games developed for the system! Sometimes I wish they would stop wasting time on this stuff that proves fruitless and spend more time making actual games I can sit and sink my teeth into! Frustrating!!

When in doubt....Whip it out!

Doesn't look very interesting to me. A better way to make people use it would be putting you in a known place from a video game, like Faron woods, or Bowser's castle. THAT would be cool.

Kittensssssss
