Will Splinter Cell: Blacklist be Whitelisted for Wii U? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Unconfirmed: Ubisoft seem to be on fire when it comes to the Wii U, but what about Splinter Cell? Unconfirmed retailer listing says yes.

Announced at E3 last week, the latest chapter in the longrunning stealth/action franchise will be available on various platforms, but not on Wii U as it stands. However a version is currently listed on US retailer BestBuy as coming to the new HD console from Nintendo. Ubisoft have not outright denied a Wii U release, and given the publisher's extensive support so far, a port may just be on the cards in the future.

Blacklist is currently slated for a Spring 2013 release, which would sit nicely within the Wii U's early months if true.

Would you play Splinter Cell on the Wii U? How would you use the GamePad to aid Sam Fisher's antics?

Sweeeeeet, Splinter Cell has always been a more believable stealth game over Metal Gear.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

I wouldn't be surprised to see Splinter Cell and other Ubisoft games like Watch Dogs come to Wii U.

Ubisoft (and Nintendo) focused only on launch window games for Wii U, but others will come and major cross-platform titles should regularly be appearing on Wii U.

We already know that another Ubsifot game, Ghost Recon Online, is coming despite not seeing anything about it - because it is coming after the launch window.

And this one sees the return of spies v mercs. Words cannot express how happy this makes me.

Add me on anything. I'm always looking for new friends/opponents/town visitors/chances to appear more popular than I actually am.

Spring 2013 would mean Late March 2013 and beyond... Which, if the November release rumour is true, would push it outside the "4 months" launch window hinted at by Reggie, meaning that, all Wii U games shown at E3 being inteded for the launch window, Ubisoft's Splinter Cell could be one those titles released "outside" that launch window, like Sonic_13 said. Would make sense then.
