2 Unannounced Wii U Games Incoming from EA on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

EA has been a tad quiet on the Wii U front, however have promised more details on two unannounced projects this summer.

E3 has been and gone and some fans had voiced concerns that the publisher behind the likes of Fifa and Madden had been a tad bit quiet despite pledging support for the Wii U back in 2011. Last week the publisher did put worries to rest by confirming that there will be sports titles, and today Frank Gibeau told CVG that we'll eventually hear about two unannounced titles.

The sole Wii U title from EA announced was a port of Mass Effect 3.

It is the first next-generation platform coming out so we're really supporting it. Just looking at E3 and where we're at, we wanted to hold our fire a little bit on a couple of the other games that we're working on. We'll have more announcements this summer on the rest of the Wii U line-up.

Gibeau also claimed that the publisher will have a bigger line-up for Wii U than EA did with the Wii, opening the floor for at least more multiplatform title to be considered for Nintendo's new box.

What upcoming EA titles would you like to see make the Wii U cut this year?

Glad to hear it. I'm assuming these two unannounced titles are not sports titles (i.e. Madden + FIFA).

More than likely this.

If there's ANY Justice in the Universe it'll be Dead Space 3...& even better than that would be a box set collection that contains all 3!! It's gonna piss me off not having Assasin's Creed & Mass Effect 1 & 2 on U.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

I hope for FIFA and Dead Space3. I don't mind FIFA on it, but having Madden would seem wrong when it only really appeals to the American market. Launch games should have wider global appeal than Madden.

There's talk that EA pulled these Wii U versions of the games from E3 after Nintendo got two Gamepads working with the system so EA could rework what they had to support both pads at once. I'm inclined to believe it.

Source?
Considering the Dead Space co-op it sounds like it could be plausible. I don't know that unfinished co-op is a good enough reason to not show a game at all though, and I'm pretty sure Nintendo informed developers of the two-pad ability long before e3. I mean, EA was among the first companies to get a Wii U dev kit at all, why wouldn't Nintendo go to them with that info?

Or I guess maybe Nintendo didn't get it figured out too long before e3, but I'd still wonder why EA wouldn't just say "also for Wii U" whether they had the co-op working or not.

Can't quote a full link or source, you'll have to trust me on that one. Am fairly certain the Wii U's ability to recognise 2 gamepads is only a couple of months old though definitely.

Yeah, I don't think it's reason enough to pull the games either, but who knows how the minds at EA work. Smilie
