Nintendo stormed Japan over the weekend with strong sales for the new 3DS XL and New Super Mario Bros 2.
To help launch the new, bigger 3DS model in Japan, Nintendo also plopped the new Mario game on store shelves. At just two days, the Nintendo 3DS XL sold just under 200,000 units (193,441) - according to Famitsu publisher, Enterbrain.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 sold 430,185 copies during the same period. Famitsu also notes how the figures are just from traditional retail and will likely be higher as it excludes sales via digital download.
