Zelda Fans Get Creative, 3 Fan Made Videos on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Film makers have been exploring the world of The Legend of Zelda lately, with various new fan movies and trailers hitting the web.

Fan-made tributes to Nintendo's beloved franchises - Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid and various others - certainly aren't something new. With the advancements in technology and digital film-making, gamers have put together some of their own near-cinema quality takes on the world of Link, Zelda and Hyrule.

The first is Fistful of Rupees - a unique cross of your favourite Zelda folk with a traditional Western setting. Zelda with a revolver? Strangely fitting.

The next, simply titled The Legend of Zelda (Live Action) takes our courages hero, his horse and fairly, into the deep woods. Queue a floating Poe ghost and bottle.

Finally, if you unleashed the famed Master Sword just what would happen?

.......LISA FOILES!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's like every gamer guy's perfect girl lol. She's also a surprisingly great and humorous writer.

The second short had some awesome effects, just wish it was a tad longer.

Yes!! It's about time Warialasky gets some coverage. I've been calling it, they're the "next" Freddie Wong and Brandon Laatsch in terms of video gamey shorts on youtube.

The acting and the accents in the Western are SO terrible, but I still smile at its cheekiness. I admire that they're going for it, and I would definitely check out the finished product for laughs and references to Zelda and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

I can't tell if the second one is a fully serious project. I like everything until the Poe in the bottle and Link breaking the fourth wall. Other than that the tone is nice... just needs better production and costuming.

And I laughed considerably at the Master Sword video. I saw a lot of fans freaking out on some sites like it was a film trailer, but come one people, it's just a cheeky video for Zelda fans.

Like video game music?!

Hm, thoughts:

Pocket Full Of Rupees... Meh I didn't like it. For me the magic of Zelda is the whole time it takes place in. The atmosphere, the areas, the medieval technology. Also, what's with this Zelda/Sheik fascination? "Oh wow it's a girl who puts on some blue ninja clothes, we need to put that into every possible Zelda trailer!"

Now the Poe one was pretty good. This is the atmosphere I'm talking about. I love how they just made 1 scene and did it right, instead of making a trailer for something that will never appear. I'm a bit worried about the horse (pony?) though... it walks like it hasn't walked in a few years.

The Master Sword one... nice idea, but I was a bit disappointed that he didn't actually stay in (or go back to) the first future. That would have made for a nice story.
