Nano Assault EX Venturing into 3DS eShop on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The folk behind the Nano series, Shin'en Multimedia, tweeted plans to bring the 3DS retail release Nano Assault EX to the eShop.

The latest in the popular shooter franchise finds players attempting to cease the deadly Nanostray virus in its tracks - piloting a nible Nanite ship within a vast cellular system in 3D, blasting through rogue cells and fending off vicious diseases.

The studio are hoping to take it further and release the game in Europe/North America with an upgraded release with "new game modes & options", as a download-only game instead of retail.

Will you download Nano assault on your Nintendo 3DS?

Am happy with the convenience of a download release, but why was the original retail version never released in Europe? Seems weird considering Shin'en themselves are German. :/

Why can't you buy anything of the eShop?

Simply because eShop cards don't exist at retail in my country, and the eShop only accepts Master Card or Visa cards for putting money on your eShop account (and I have neither), I can't even use Paypal or my own debit card for that.

You sure your debit card doesn't work when trying to buy things on the eShop? I don't have a Visa credit card, but my Visa debit card works. I suppose you've already tried to input it at the payment screen before, but just seems odd to me.

There's no such things as Visa debit cards in my country, all debits cards are Maestro over here, and they don't even have a so-scalled "security number" on them, and the card numbers don't match the amount of numbers required by the eShop. As you can imagine... I tried Smilie

That's tough. Have you tried emailing Nintendo to ask them to allow Maestro? Worth a go.

Normally even Maestro cards are supposed to have a security number, but security numbers are a system that's supposed to be obsolete (I found out that much in my research about that issue with the eShop actually) but most online retailers and co are slow to drop that system and still go with the old system. But in Belgium, the security code system was dropped completely on Maestro cards delivered by our banks. For Nintendo to change and make it functional for us would mean deeply change their system AND way of thinking. I doubt one single person like me can make any difference, it's a complicated situation.

I'm looking forward to this, glad I didn't import. This EX version will feature support for a second stick.
