Modder Blends Two N64 Controllers into One for Dual Analogue on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Ever attempted dual-analogue with the Nintendo 64 controllers? A modder has fused two together for one ultimate input beast.

The Nintendo 64 controller offered a nifty way of exploring 3D environments with ease, and despite these classics still being playable over a decade later, fans have come up with different ways of playing the likes of Goldeneye 007, Super Mario 64 and many more by using custom schemes on a computer.

But what about keeping it on the original system? Certain titles have dual-controller features - including Star Wars: Episode I Racer and the timeless FPS gem, Goldeneye 007. One modder decided to help out his Episode I Racer fanatic friend and create the first truly dual-analogue Nintendo 64 controller.

How? By braving the hammer and blending together two existing units into one mammoth, yet still beautiful, controller - complete with two sticks, dual Z-triggers and a convincing finish.

What do you think of the idea - blending two Nintendo 64 controllers into one single unit?

Goodness, as if the original controller wasn't unwieldy enough already.

The final product does look rather professional though.

That's pretty interesting. I had no idea this functionally with Podracer existed.

I also find it hilarious that he put in all the time to make the controller but has basically no idea what its purpose is.

Like video game music?!

What's wrong with 1.2 controls in GE/PD? It's not like you need analogue walking that much.

Anyway, fun project.

@Jacob4000: The N64 controller is one of the best ones. It was easy to use, handle and understand, and really proves how Nintendo is always looking for "out of the box" controllers for their consoles.
