Final Issue of Nintendo Gamer Now on Sale on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

After twenty years of dedicated coverage, the final issue of Nintendo Gamer is now on sale in your local UK magazine shack.

The final issue says a farewell to the various incarnations of the publication throughout the years - including Super Play and N64 Magazine, looking to a future of Nintendo gaming with the Wii U and 3DS. The magazine met its untimely demise last week at the hands of publisher Future, with the sole dedicated Nintendo serial out there being the Official Nintendo Magazine.

The cover was penned by original artist Wil Overton, with his works and others throughout the years include in the retrospective feature.

Still amazes me when I walk past the magazine stands in supermarkets. I bought a random magazine 2 years back and felt like a classy gentleman when I walked out the store. But when I got home I felt old and senile: had I really paid money for ink on paper? Oh God, why!? I felt quite embarrassed and think I peed a little, it wasn't a proud moment at all. :/

I actually laughed at that, very funny.

It was only good as Super Play, everything else was crap.

Wii U latest: The launch games, the price, the release date.

Want!! Smilie

If this claims to have the WiiU launch info how can it be out already? There's been no concrete info on that available anywhere.

Either way I have good memories of it in the late N64 and early GC days, it's such a shame for long running mags to cease publication.

Haven't bought a copy of this mag in years but will definitely honour their efforts by getting this last one.

Maybe it's better to burn a copy in a glorious bonfire to celebrate and signal the end of inefficient and wasteful ways of delivering news - provided there's enough cheese it will be not just glorious, but beautiful as well. A true tribute to mankinds yet to be concluded futile efforts.

I just noticed that..

StarFox, Pokémon 3DS, Smash Bros, AND F-Zero?
It's possible they're not covering new things and when they say Pokémon 3DS they just mean Dream Catcher or something. Smilie But man the hype if all those turned out to be new games or something.

Man what a buzzkill, though I guess they had to go out on some kind of bang despite the current lack of bang from Nintendo.
