Cubed3 was contacted by its old friends from Fuse, now Silverball Studios, about a Pro Pinball Kickstarter campaign. Where have you heard the name before, though? Do you remember Metroid Prime Pinball on the Nintendo DS, Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon on the DSiWare download service, or even Super Mario Ball Review on the Game Boy Advance? Yes, the UK team that worked alongside Nintendo previously created the immensely popular Pro Pinball series that began back in 1995. However, despite always wanting to make a new version, it was only recently that the team acquired the full rights to the actual brand name.
Now it is time for the resurrection of one of the finest pinball games around, with a little helping hand from all the people that desperately wanted Pro Pinball to return. Check out the promotional Kickstarter video below for more information:
What Adrian Barritt, co-founder of Silverball Studios, told Cubed3 was that if the target of US$400,000 is beaten by 5th October, then Pro Pinball: Revived & Remastered on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will become a reality "sooner rather than later."
Cubed3 will be speaking to Adrian about the project in more detail very soon, but for now, check out the team's official Kickstarter funding page and the positive reviews of the team's games when known as Fuse right here on Cubed3:
By far the most impressive pinball game to grace the Nintendo DS so far. Fuse has really lifted the bar...and fans of the genre will surely have little to complain about.
Metroid Prime Pinball - 8/10 - 27th June, 2007.With a hidden complexity that veteran pinballers will appreciate and clever tasks that platform aficionados will warm to, Super Mario Ball proves that more than a little innovation can be injected into the classic genre without upsetting the balance too much.
Super Mario Ball Review - 8/10 - 25th November, 2004.
What are your thoughts on the idea of Pro Pinball: Revived & Remastered? Will you be supporting the Kickstarter campaign?
