Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion
After over a year in development, a new look Cubed3 has arrived from the depths of Bowser's Castle, springing forth as a new place to relax and absorb the latest Nintendo updates in the Mushroom Kingdom.

As we approach our 10th birthday and the launch on the Wii U, what better time to relaunch the Cubed3 experience with new and improved features.

Welcome Nintendo fans to version 11 of Cubed3.com

A New Look for a New Generation

With numerous existing features and content coming together previously over time, we stripped down Cubed3 to its core, blending the best bits for a more contemporary feel. Two columns instead of three, a stronger focus on the latest updates and community content.

Side menus can be re-arranged and hidden to tailor the experience to just how you want it. Crave latest news first? Give the box a shuffle. Prefer screens and videos first? Certainly, sir!

Advanced Game Search

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
Whilst Cubed3's primary focus is the latest news updates, features and reviews, having a comprehensive database of games is a key to Nintendo knowledge. We've improved our tools to allow you to find any title in the company's vast catalogue by publisher, minimum number of players, genre, online titles and more.

How about Mario games for four players or Wii U games by SEGA?

Trending Games, Most Wanted, Most Owned, Highest Rated

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
Stats fans rejoice. See what's trending across the site, which games are igniting the community, which are the most requested and the most owned by members.

Games can be also be filtered by highest rated: official Cubed3 scores and favourites based on member ratings. Remember, every game that you rate and add will help shape these lists.

Game Videos & Screenshots

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
We've improved our media system to include relevant game videos and a more fluid screenshot gallery across all the games in the Cubed3 database.

Game Collections - Show Your Score / Reviews

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
Whilst integrated game collections and wishlists have been a part of the website since 2006, you can now display your reader review and score for any title in your collection.

Search filters are also in place for those curious about how many four player games are in a collection, or which genre is most popular for example. I own 44 Nintendo games, within that have 32 titles for four players and out of those 32 games, two are shooters. You may discover aspects about your own collection that you may not know!

Franchise and Genre Hubs

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
If there's something about Nintendo that keep gamers of all ages returning, it has to be the Japanese game maker's various franchises. From Mario to The Legend of Zelda, there's something for everyone. We also tap into recommended third party titles like Final Fantasy and Call of Duty.

We've also expanded our genres to home in on more relevant games - minimum players, console and publisher can also be applied.

Commenting on Status Updates

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
Whilst not quite Facebook just yet, members can now comment on forum status updates. Feeling hungry? Poking your nose? Share it with the Cubed3 community.

Subscribe to Topics, News, Features and Games

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
In our socially connected generation, everyone is constantly abuzz on the latest information, no matter how big or small. A much requested feature from Cubed3 readers is subscriptions. You can now receive email or website-only notifications when others comment on news, forums, reviews etc - hourly, daily or in a weekly digest.

Members can also follow any game on the site for an instant update when new content goes live.

Interactive Quizzes - Win Stars!

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
We rolled out interactive quizzes during the Nintendo 64 Month and since then these have become a much requested feature. With a new dedicated section, you can fill your boots with quick-fire questions on Sonic the Hedgehog or take part in image quizzes like Who's that... Pokémon?

Both members and guests can take part, with members receiving stars based on the final score. Could you earn full marks?

Online match-ups and Chat

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
Add your online games, search for players in your region and get chatting through our revitalised online Wi-Fi area. We've improved the filtering and look to make finding online players quicker and easier than before.

Regular free-for-all sessions will also be taking place again in the near future.

Member Awards

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
Forum regulars will have noticed weekly awards for quality posts that compliment the Cubed3 Stats system. These awards are now available within user profiles for all to see. Go on, show off a little!

Cubed3 Store - Lowest Online Prices

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
With so many stores frantically competing for sales, it's difficult to find the best deal for the hottest Nintendo games. Let Cubed3 do the hard work for you with our daily lowest-price check. Our system trawls popular stores each day for the lowest software, hardware and accessories - including the hotly anticipated Wii U console bundles.

See just how much you'll save on the RRP, plus automatically grab the best deal for trending games.

Additional regions - including North America and Europe - will be included at a later date.

Cubed3 Radio Returns

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
After a long absence from the days of MIDI, we've rejuvenated the Cubed3 Radio with a selection of video game playlists. Why not sink into a melodic dream of Koji Kondo's finest Super Mario Bros compositions or tap-out those toes to the finest Ace Attorney themes?

To launch the radio, click on the Cubed3 Radio banner on the side bar.

Suggestions are always welcome for any additional series to include.

Login using Facebook/Twitter

Image for Welcome to the New Look Cubed3.com
A requested feature amongst some visitors was the ability to login using an existing Facebook or Twitter account - new members can now  sign-up using these networks or link a current Cubed3 account for a single-click login.

Profile and Private Messaging

Add more detail to your member profile - including Xbox Live Gamertag, Steam and Skype IDs, plus your Twitter feed and interests. The Private Messaging (PM) system has also gotten a new overhaul with conversations views for all your messages.

Themes

In the coming months there will be additional themes to choose from. Watch this space!

It's almost been a decade since we let loose this Nintendo baby on the world and we want to continue covering the House of Mario for many years to come. With the Wii U touching down in a matter of weeks, the 3DS going from strength to strength, there hasn't been a better time to rejuvinate and reinvigorate the Cubed3 experience. We may disagree with some of Nintendo's decisions from time to time, but there's something extremely special about the company, its games and consoles that keeps the craving strong and the meal incredibly delicious.

I would like to personally thank the entire Cubed3 Team for sticking by the project, shaping all our new features, including a special thanks to Az "Azuardo" Elias who has been our resident bug tester and suggestions chap throughout development. Plus of course our readership and members who, without sounding as cheesy as Wario's bottom, have stuck with us for the duration.

I hope you enjoy our new features, design and please do check back for the latest updates. We wouldn't be here without you!

Jorge Ba-oh, Founder & Managing Director

Cubed3 has been a part of my life for nearly ten years now, and with the re-launch of the site, readers will be seeing a wealth of new features that make for a much more streamlined browsing experience. This step forward also sees a wider focus start to come into play, with coverage of the latest technology, non-Nintendo subjects, the long-awaited return of C3 Radio and much more from the dedicated staff members. Brace yourselves for a new era of Cubed3!

Adam Riley, Operations Director

It's been a long time coming, but finally the new Cubed3 is here, and it looks fantastic! Huge credit must be given to Jorge for coming out with such a brilliant new look for the site, and more so for putting up with my constant pestering of suggestions and errors I kept spotting! Hopefully now as members we can keep the site active and a welcoming and friendly community to discuss video games and everything else in between. I believe Cubed3 will now be much more engaging and fun for readers with all of the new features added, whilst also being an excellent resource of the latest video games news. I'm wishing all the best for the future of this great website and look forward to interacting with all of you across the new Cubed3!

Great work J! And a huge thanks for all the time you've put into making it.

It looks great, but I do think I'm gonna miss the old look a lot. So many memories!

Massive kudos and congratulations to Jorge once again. Looking forward to seeing what everyone thinks of the new look and features!

I would also like to direct readers to the Site Issues and Problems thread. If you spot any errors, bugs, etc, including wrong information on game pages or box arts missing, please do post whatever you find and we'll get to work on it.

And of course we're always open to suggestions to improve the site, so make sure to visit the Site Suggestions thread, too.

Woaaaaaaah spiffy!

WOWWWWWWW!!!!! I really love this new look. I'll have to mess around with some of the new features when I have time. It's like the best stuff from more modernized websites.

Having some experience in web design and programming myself, I can definitely see how much work was put into making this new look. Great job to jb and everybody else who contributed!

Wooow, looks awesome! ^_^ Especially like the ability to rearrange the sidebar. I'll have to use this opportunity to be a bit more active around here. Smilie

I love the new notification system. Much needed as I was too lazy to go through my own history Smilie

side note-cubed3 went down a little bit a couple minutes ago, though I'm pretty sure that's expected with a new redesign.

It looks lovely, and it seems to work well. Great work!. The site really needed this.

This is my new favourite feature, too.

Thanks guys! Still working a few bugs - the "auto jump" feature should be fine now for the site feed (new posts onwards).

Wonderful job and many congrats guys! Smilie I've done a spot of advertising here and there and hopefully will get the new look some attention and action is deserves! Here's to many more years of the lovely C3 Smilie

And pats on the back and stars for all the Staff members who have been hard at work at this for a while, have a nice cuppa tea and reap the fruits of your labours Smilie

I think Jorge needs to have a good rest now after being inundated with tweak and fix requests!

Just think, Cubed3 will also be 10 in January Smilie

Okay, the Notifications bar is a sugary slice of awesomeness. So super convenient! Smilie

I must be the only member who isn't benefitting from the notifications since I basically breathe Cubed3 and read everything there is on here. Smilie The PM system, on the other hand, is so convenient for me. Smilie

Automatic resizing of pictures to fit the posts is brilliant as well. It was kinda annoying having to do that manually with some bits of code.

Awww its all new and shiny!

Lookin' good. I'll have to get used it to it like any other change, but I definitely feel positive about the new look.

I let out an audible gasp when I opened up my browser (yes, it is still my homepage Smilie). It looks fantastic! Can't wait to give it a whirl.
