3DS XL With Pre-Installed Mario Kart 7 Due for Europe on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

During the Nintendo Direct European presentation today, a new Mario Kart 7 3DS XL hardware bundle was announced.

Unlike traditional console packages, this one will include a digital copy of the game - already pre-installed on the included SD card for use from the get go.

The addition of a download/virtual Mario Kart 7 to the selection also comes with news that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Super Mario 3D Land will also be available to download on the 3DS eShop.

What do you think of this move? Should hardware bundles include physical/retail copies of included games?

Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Star Fox 64 3D are all available from the eShop now, priced at £39.99 each. (Bit expensive if you ask me)

I was so tempted to buy Super Mario 3D Land - alas for £39.99 I would have to be insane or stupidly rich to do so! Can get it below £30 easy. But fair play to them, Nintendo wouldn't want to mess with retailers with pricing anyway.

I hope retailers start selling the download redemption codes in store and possibly online. Would love to snag a New Art Academy download code for £20 or so. I'd also like to get Animal Crossing on download when it comes out over here, but I really like physical copies.. so I probably won't. I wish Nintendo would do the whole Digital Copy thing, like they do with most Blu Rays nowadays.
