The latest issue of Japanese magazine CoroCoro has confirmed the original Level-5 IP Youkai Watch as a 3DS game.

The studio behind Professor Layton and Inazuma Eleven is putting together a new 3D title that involves a young boy who can see ghosts. Comparisons with The Sixth Sense aside, he uses a mysterious wrist watch to see the paranormal.

It was first revealed last year during the 2011 Level-5 World event, and according to the report Youkai Watch is now heading to Nintendo's portable, despite initially being thought to be coming to a Sony system.

The original debut trailer can be seen below.

Nobody thought this was coming to a Nintendo system...and possibly it was indeed due for something like PS3 or Vita at one point. Clearly, though, the balance in Japan has changed drastically since it was first unveiled, and I wouldn't be shocked if it also makes an appearance on Wii U at some point.

Does look more on the level of Vita power, hopefully it won't change too much in the transition.

Hopefully something like this will get translated; Liberation Maiden and the other Guild games coming across makes me hopeful. ^^

I think, like Little Battlers, L5 will wait for the anime to head over...
