And so the war goes on. Ever since the dawn on tapes and then CD's piracy has been a huge problem, and no place is more at fault for such illegal goings on than China.

Recently, it is reported that 300,000 pirate copies of games were siezed from the Guangdong province of China.

The estimated amount that counterfeiting has cost Nintendo and its licenses about US$649 million in 2002. So it is pretty obvious that something needs to be done: fast!

Nintendo's recent actions are just part of the ongoing war against piracy in China, where violations include everything from the illegal copying of CDs and DVDs to the manufacturing of counterfeit watches and even handbags.

China has agreed to take further action to slow down such problems, but being such a vast country it is easy for counterfiting to go on without anyone knowing for months.
