The Lovechild of a Wii U and SNES Revealed: SNES Controller Pro on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

What would happen if the Wii U and the SNES got it on in some sort of bizzare night of plastic passion? The result might look like this.

Fans of Nintendo's controllers and the current standard for button layouts can thank the Japanese developer's efforts with the SNES for setting a four-button foundation. There's quite a similar setup within the core of the Wii U Pro Controller, so much so that a new hybrid has emerged on the market - enter the Wii U Pro Controller with a dash of SNES.

Spotted on the EB Games Australia website, the device is currently up for pre-order in multiple colours at $48 AUS (£30/$50) - it's likely an unofficial controller and not from the hands of the original parents.

So good.

Interestingly shaped like an Xbox360 controller.

So... If the Wii U and SNES got it on and had a lovechild, wouldn't that technically be incest?

Edited story with colour variations.

It's interesting to note that the text on the bottom of the packaging says that the pad can be used in both Wii and Wii U modes. If so then this pad can function as both a Wii Classic Controller Pro whilst the U is in Wii Mode, and as normal for Wii U games that support it; something the official model reportedly can't do. Despite the asthetic, this might be the one pad to go for.

Woah you can switch it to Wii classic controller mode? That would be truly an advantage over the official thing.
If they do that, I bet Nintendo will fix their controllers and enable Wii support for them.

Anyway, do we know yet if the triggers are analog? And the same question goes for the Upad. It would be nice to have for those 10 or so Cube games that needed the analog control.

I'd think Nintendo would since they still have patents on the design. What I want to know is if these are universal or only work with WiiU's from Australia & the UK. I'd love to have most of those colors but I want to know if they're compatible with North American Us.

Controllers have always been universal, so they should work fine.

As for the triggers, all I can say is that they acted as a single click (think the B trigger under the Wii Remote), but whether they are analogue/pressure sensitive is a different issue. I don't know if it's been 100% confirmed either way if they are analogue. But there definitely isn't any leeway in being able to push the triggers further like the ones on PS3/360/GC/DC for example. Pressure sensitivity may be the way they have gone, but I don't know.

They should be fine overseas - as Azuardo says, controllers generally are universal.

No, just technical incest. Incesticum Robotica if I'm not mistaken. But I am. Hey you know what? Consoles are NOT people, they can't make love, they can't have sex, they can't even give birth..I think you should feel bad for trying to tarnish Nintendo's good name with your sexual fantasies and for even bringing so much sexualizement into a fun for the family topic. Do you have any children? Are your parents still alive? Well
I'm not sure if you will be feeling so mighty in three weeks from now. But please, let's start over.
This is getting out of hand, do you want to talk to me sometime? I'll be sure to keep checking in, without making promises; you and me, everything is going to be 'al'-right(guess where I'm going tonight! ^_^' )

You are not alone. I am here with you. Though we're far apart...you're always in my heart. Love u!
