The folk behind Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest will be able develop titles using Unreal Engine 3 and 4.
Epic games has granted Square Enix a license to use the industry recognised engine, plus support for the impending release of Unreal Engine 4, making the RPG giant the first licensee for the new tech.
The deal is set to span multiple games - including the recently released Demon's Score and the upcoming project, Fortnite.
Epic has a strong relationship with Square Enix, and it's an honor to provide their creative and technical talent with the best game technology available for licensing. We look forward to supporting their developers with world-class tools for years to come.
