A Look at Cancelled Wii Project Snowball Earth on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The folk behind Swords & Soldiers and the de Blob concept have released a demo of a cancelled project.

Before Dutch studio Ronimo Games was established, the team had dreams to put together a full retail release on the Wii and began working on Snowball Earth.

The bizzare idea revolved around a robot boy who reckons he started the last ice age, and so he ventures to planet Earth in a bid to melt the world. However he discovers that a manufacturer had sold fridges to yetis and so the boy instead sets out to prove his innocence.

Unable to find a publishing partner, Ronimo stopped development. Four years on, the studio have released a playable demo and hope that it might get a second chance.

Was this intended to be a WiiWare game? There is just too many games to play these days, i just don't understand where people get the time to play games like this!

Nope - they wanted to release it as a full retail title before forming the studio (as students), but it could likely become download if there's interest methinks.

Would anyone really pay even £20 to play a game like this. Seeing games like Skyward Sword and Arkham City at the moment for under £20 makes me feel like this kind of game needs to be put in the bargain bin from the start!

EDIT: Ok, perhaps i am being a bit harsh here...but nonetheless i think people understand what i mean!

I think it would make a decent game, but only if popped onto WiiWare or something - not quite enough for a full retail experience imo.
