Wii U Remotes to Sync from the Outside

Wii U Remotes to Sync from the Outside on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Ever had to fumble with your Wii remote to sync it up to the console unit? The Wii U may remedy that age old problem.

Despite the tech being the same in the Wii Remote Plus  and the new Wii U remotes, the packaging will differ on the outside. One other change as found by Nintendo Connect is the sync button being on the outside, instead of being wedged beside the batteries.

The Wii U console itself will also have its sync button exposed on the front for easy communication between man and beast, or rather Wii Remote and console. Convenient, eh?

A useful change? Do you have to sync your controllers regularly?

It should have been there in the first place. I bought my 360 and Wii weeks within each other i just remember how much more useful it was to have it on the outside.

Good to see Nintendo are changing it though.

I think I needed to sync Wiimotes perhaps 3 or 4 times in my life. If you have friends visiting and bringing their own controllers, you can simply soft-sync.

I didn't know that you could do that! http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/ht_system.jsp?menu=wiiremote&submenu=rvl-ht-sys-remote-sync-one-time

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Never had to re-sync my Wiimotes personally, other than in the case of having to use them with a different console.

However, since now some might want to use their same Wiimotes both on Wii U and on their old Wii still, I guess having the resync button on the outside is going to be more convenient...

Smilie It's a great option for when you have friends over.
This is why your (turned off) Wiimote starts blinking like crazy when you press 1+2 at the same time. It's trying to find the Wii to sync with.
