Nintendo president Satoru Iwata talked through user accounts and the Nintendo Network in a broadcast today.
During the Japanese Nintendo Direct, Iwata demonstrated how the onboard accounts system would work. As noted at E3 this year, there can be multiple users per Wii U system and when you boot up the console, it prompts you for which account to use - much like a home computer.
Each user has their own settings and save data (some maybe shared across all accounts). Users will also have their own recommendations, bookmarks and other personalised tidbits.
Up to 12 accounts will be available on the system.
Going online, players will each have their own Nintendo Network ID that requests the following details:
- Email address, password
- Date of Birth
- Gender
