Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Becomes a Rare Wii Game on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Want to fight with the cast of Capcom and recruits from the Tatsunoko studio? You may need to scavenge for a copy of their Wii mash-up.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, which includes fighters from both studios, was coined by the Japanese game developer in 2008 thanks to an agreement between both parties. The game was localised for the Western market several years later, and has since seen a fairly strong following of fans and online players.

However due to the rights ending recently, Capcom's Christian Svensson has confirmed that the Wii game cannot be sold physically or digitally anymore.

A reprint, eShop download or sequel is unlikely unless a new deal is formed - "I'd say the chances of this happening are slim."

Are you a fan of the franchise mix and would you like Capcom to consider a sequel for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars?

Quick, invest in those games and try to resell them in a few years!

Well, that's one more added to my list. Still, I'm keeping the game for years to come.

One of my fave fighters TvC - classic Capcom combat, decent Tatsunoko characters. They may all look quite similar but there's a solid variety in movesets for sure.

Fantastic game! Its £8 at CEX but i am sure that price will rise quickly on the wind of this news!

Grab it if you don't have a copy!

Great game. Will be keeping my copy though. Smilie

Aw shit. Will need to rebuy. :/

Glad I bought mine at launch AND the Wii Fight Stick as well WOOT!! I could probably get a very nice price if I sold the game & TvsC fight stick together but.....that's never gonna happen.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

By the way, since when is it news when a game goes out of production? Doesn't that happen to every game sooner or later? I've never seen a news item of it before.

Tell that to Goldeneye 007 fans...people have been begging for that to be put on e-shops for years now...

This isn't about the game going out of production, its more about the game not being available anymore!

I'll keep my original Japanese version close by then (the one with Hakushon Daimao in it), it should become even more rare than the other western versions.
