Feature | Shigeru Miyamoto's Nintendo Innovation - From Mario to Zelda - An Infographic

Feature | Shigeru Miyamoto

To celebrate Shigeru Miyamoto's 60th birthday this week, Cubed3 explores his finest works and Nintendo innovation from Super Mario Bros to The Legend of Zelda.

The game designer started work at Nintendo back in 1979, where he helped pen some of the company's early arcade efforts. His concepts for the original Donkey Kong helped established the Japanese game maker in North America, and once he evolved Mario in a fully-fledged platformer in 1985/87, the rest is history.

Be sure to continue the appreciation for Miyamoto's work by sharing our infographic and of course playing through his finest Nintendo games.

The legend! I'm sure he'll do something swimming related before he retires...wasn't that one of the most recent hobbies he discussed? He always seems to do something based on his current pastimes!

Superb stuff, Jorge - really impressive infographic Smilie

Hey where's the part where he made a tantrum because Donkey kong country sold better than Yoshi's crayon island?

or the part where he shouted "I have done that before!!! I DONT WANNA DO THEM AGAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIN!!!! when asked about a new 2D Mario that everybody was asking for?

Or the part where he hired a stupid doll maker that hates zelda to be in charge of zelda?!

Or the part where he blamed marketing for the failure of the virtual boy?

or the part where he shunned online in favor of the GBA-connectivity that no one gave a damn?!

Who made that thing?!

Good points there Bobbuffalo - however it's about the main innovation/games rather than smaller facts during development. We'd be here all day otherwise...
