Iwata Sends Apologies for Wii U Day One Update on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The Wii U day one update has been plagued with issues, and Nintendo President Satoru Iwata sends his apologies to patient fans.

The man behind Nintendo, Wii and Mario, recently expressed his regret that players will have to download a patch/update in order to access certain features that should be available already pre-installed - it's a fairly chunky one so can take an hour or two to fully download.

Players are recommended to ensure that the Wii U console is not turned off during the update and download.

I feel very sorry for the fact that purchasers of Wii U have to experience a network update which takes such a long time.

Iwata did hope players would be satisfied and understand the concepts behind Miiverse and Wii U chat once the system had been updated and online enabled.

The UK arm today revealed what players will be able to get their hands on when downloading the update in Europe - including various demos, full retail titles, MiiVerse access and web browsing capabilities.
