Rumour: Nintendo to Announce Zelda: Majora

Whilst the internet has been bombarded with stories on December 21st, the day could mark the time where Nintendo will reveal The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for Nintendo 3DS.

According to an anonymous source on Zelda Informer, earlier today Nintendo of America supposedly tweeted "Hey Zelda fans! On the dawn of the final day, a familiar game will be announced for the Nintendo 3DS! Look for it this Friday!"

Of course as with all rumours, the unconfirmed tweet has since disappeared and the language seems a tad different from the account's most recent Tweets.

Whilst an announcement on December 21st does seem unlikely, the prospect of a Majora's Mask for Nintendo 3DS is a conceivable on - given the quick and successful turnaround time for Ocarina of Time 3D last year.

Still haven't finished OOT, I'm stuck on the bongo boss, drove me nuts for weeks and haven't touched it now in months and months...

would be cool, I'd want more stuff altering than in ocarina of time. More villagers and a bigger town would be nice. Maybe even a 4th day after you finish the game.

I don't buy new handhelds for ports. I have little to no interest in OoT 3D.... so they'd have to make some pretty big changes if they want me to buy this game.

Anyway, MM 3D has been rumored for a year now, but mostly because people want it so badly. Nintendo themselves have said several times that they're working on a totally new Zelda title before considering remaking MM.
(At least I'm pretty sure that's what I read.)

Seems real!

As far as I know, the Tweet was confirmed fake. It's extremely easy to fake tweets, so I really don't think there's anything here at all.

That's for a fan remix album.

Brilliant site nonetheless.

it makes sense because the 21st is the end of the world!!!

How are we supposed to play it if the world ends tomorrow? So cruel. Smilie

Anyway, Nintendo would never use semi-religious hype to announce a game. It's way too controversial.

Yes and no!
they said they wanted to make a new zelda for the 3ds before considering a MM remake, but later they said they were considering in working for a reamke for a link to the past or maybe MM, but they weren't sure wich one.

It would actually make since. the original game came out in the year 2000 which was directly after the y2k scare, and the game is based around an apocalyptic world. so why wouldn't they anounce it on the day the world is supposed to end?

That makes quite a bit of sense though it could all be coincidence.  Anyways, I'm really hoping for an original Zelda game even though Majora's Mask is kick-ass and I've only played through it once.

I still say A Link to the Past deserves more spot light. The MOST impressive & darkest Zelda for it's time!!

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

its not a rumour, its actually stated in the contents of the  ocarina of time box, "coming soon majora's mask" whether in virtual console or 3ds game and date is unknown.

There is actually a day 4 glitch involving looking into a telescope and canceling it as close as you can before the moon crashes.  I have done it, and it really just makes it so you can move around while time is stopped.  Most of the  npcs disappear (even more than from the night of day 3), the clock at the bottom of the screen disappears, and some actions or cut scenes may freeze the game.

Is the boss harder on the 3DS than 64? I never had any problems with it on 64.

Hmm, From what I've read, they said (source: Operation Moonfall):
"It's been 13 years since Ocarina of Time was originally released, and one of the big things that we made this remake possible was that there was an outpour of emotions from people who said they would like to see this game done. We said we could do it in 3D, so we did. I think certainly if there was a similar output of emotion and clamor from fans for a remake of Majora's Mask, it wouldn't be an utter impossibility."
