Monster Hunter Tri Online Servers to Head Offline this April on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom have confirmed that after just over three years online, support for online multiplayer in the Wii version of Monster Hunter Tri will end.

The servers will be taken down from April 30th, so those craving an online beast slaying fix will have to adopt the enhanced version on the Wii U with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate hitting stores in March.

Homebrewers may attempt to hook up the Wii edition of the game to private servers for those who perhaps wouldn't want to upgrade, though officially the only way to play Monster Hunter 3 online from May will be to nab the Wii U edition.

What do you think of the move - fair play or should the servers remain active for at least another year?

After (almost) completing the single player, I decided to go online. Oh boy was I in for a surprise... I couldn't start monster-hunting quests, instead I had to prove myself all over again by gathering plants... -_-'

Thanks Canyarion.

I've gone through most of the single-player game, but I haven't yet tried it online.  Let's see if the homebrewers manage to get it on a private server.
