Etrian Odyssey IV Gets a European Release this Spring on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

European Etrian Odyssey fans are familiar with the lack of EU releases for this old school series. Well, Atlus has finally heard the voice of reason and decided to bring this map-making, dungeon crawling RPG to the shores of the EU. On their twitter today, NintendoUK has announced that Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan will launch this spring.

If you aren't familiar with Etrian Odyssey, it's a very challenging dungeon crawler in the style of Wizardry. There's nothing forgiving about this game. You'll die in the depths of labyrinthine dungeons, and on the way to dying you'll have to make your own maps. That's right, a series staple is use of the DS/3DS touchscreen to draw out a Dungeons & Dragons style map, with customizable map features such as doors and symbols for traps and treasures.

Etrian Odyssey is something unique in the world of RPGs, so give it a look. There's a demo in the NA eShop, and there should be one in the EU shop shortly.
