The ever-popular Angry Birds franchise will be flapping down onto the Wii and Wii U this year publisher Activision reports.

Originally starting life as a download on iOS back in 2009, the game has now sold well over 12 million copies and spawned many sequels across multiple operating systems.

A boxed Angry Birds Trilogy was released on Nintendo 3DS last year, and due to the success of the format, the same package will be released on Nintendo Wii U and Wii this year.

Are you an Angry Birds fanatic? Will you invite these feathered friends onto your Nintendo Wii or Wii U?

IT'S THE BEGINNING OF THE END!!!!

Just kidding. haha

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.

Has the game really "sold" 12 million copies?

I thought it was free and comes with ads.

How much will it cost?. The 3DS version was pushing it, this version pushes it further...

I can't believe they're making it disc-based once again. I could get behind a €5 eShop version, but €35 for a DVD? Crazy.

I guess only ignorant grandparents buy this.
