Assassin's Creed IV Announced for the Wii U, Courtesy of Ubisoft

We're big fans of creeding, and also of assassins. So we're happy to hear that Ubisoft has formally announced Assassin's Creed IV will be coming to the Nintendo Wii U. The game's subtitle is "Black Flag" and the cover art for the game seems to indicate it will be about everyone's favorite activity: pirating.

Considering the ship sections of Assassin's Creed III were the most highly praised parts of that game, the prospect of an adventure focused on sailing is exciting. Nothing about the gameplay has been revealed yet, however we're getting visions of Sid Meier's Pirates, and that's a very good thing.

Along with the Wii U, AC IV will find its way onto the PS3, the 360, and PC. Given Ubisoft's love of porting, we have to assume it will be released on Sony and Microsoft's next systems as well. No release date has been given, however Ubisoft will release more details on Black Flag next Monday, March 4th.

I'm playing through AC3 at the moment. Improvements I'd like to see.

-More focus on stealth, it doesn't really feel like you're playing as an assassin from my experience with the game.
-Make the menus easier to navigate, they're just a mess at the moment.
-Allow the setting of way points on the fly, using the touch screen.
-Less padding, collecting a thousand feathers or delivering mail isn't fun. Games don't have to be 100 hours+
-A main character with some charisma would be nice

w00t!

Still waiting on an Assassin's Creed set in feudal Japan, Ubi. Smilie

Chance favors the prepared mind.

Good to see Nintendo is still getting this series....now if only we could get 1 & 2 as well just like with Mass Effect & even get the Dead Space series!!

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

I loved the Assassins Creed game play as it is both historical fiction and action adventure game.
