We're big fans of creeding, and also of assassins. So we're happy to hear that Ubisoft has formally announced Assassin's Creed IV will be coming to the Nintendo Wii U. The game's subtitle is "Black Flag" and the cover art for the game seems to indicate it will be about everyone's favorite activity: pirating.
Considering the ship sections of Assassin's Creed III were the most highly praised parts of that game, the prospect of an adventure focused on sailing is exciting. Nothing about the gameplay has been revealed yet, however we're getting visions of Sid Meier's Pirates, and that's a very good thing.
Along with the Wii U, AC IV will find its way onto the PS3, the 360, and PC. Given Ubisoft's love of porting, we have to assume it will be released on Sony and Microsoft's next systems as well. No release date has been given, however Ubisoft will release more details on Black Flag next Monday, March 4th.
