Saints Row 4 Won't Tackle Nintendo Wii U

Saints Row 4 Won

Saints Row is set to continue with a new multiplatform release this August, but publisher Deep Silver has confirmed a Wii U version isn't in the works.

With original publisher THQ having to auction off the franchise earlier this year, Deep Silver picked up the rights to the series and together with developer Volition have been working on Saints Row 4.

The forthcoming game takes elements from the  Saints Row 3 "Enter the Dominatrix" standalone expansion into a brand new entry for PC and "current generation consoles", presumably Xbox 360 and PS3.

However there aren't any plans to include Nintendo Wii U in the Saints Row 4 roster, according to Joystiq.

Those curious about the game, this is the debut trailer for yet another title skipping Nintendo's latest home console:

What do you think of Saints Row 4 and the lack of a Nintendo Wii U version?

The saints row games represent exactly what is wrong with the gaming industry today. Over the top continuously with no uphill momentum, no legitimate rewards for playing a game properly, immature content, typical 50 hour "sandbox" game that wastes your time more traveling between point a and b than doing the missions themselves. These low brow games akin to GTA arejust a massive waste of time in the worst scene and ultimately made to appeal to obnoxious axe spray smelling mouth breathing teenagers. No thanks don't care.

I suppose it makes sense if they have no experience of developing for Wii U.

And yet despite this low-brow humour all the games have very respectable average scores across the series. I've only played SR2, and I thought it was a blast, I didn't buy it for a high brow experience, and I don't imagine anyone with rudimentary intelligence did. I found it's humour akin to that of No More Heroes, a highlight, not a criticism.

welshwuff is bang on here and has saved me posting the very same thing.

Want a childrens game? Look no further.

A childrens game with comedy dildos such is the world we now live in (and I am no prude)

its not funny unless you are a child or of child level intelligence.

As was said: exactly whats wrong with gaming.

Pile of wank. Do not need.

I think owners of Wii U can expect a barrage of "children's games" over the coming years. Nintendo platforms have always supported them and always will.

I loved Saints Row 3 and can't wait to play this one. The trailer I saw on it was freaking awesome! Too bad about the Wii U not getting it though. I would have bought it on that system.

All hail the Chain Chomp at GS FORUMS!

SmilieAh I love it Smilie SRT4th!! August 23rd 2013 this is gonna be sweet!!! Fucking A!!! Nintendo needs to get their shit together & start PUSHING developers TO MAKE GAMES ON THERE SYSTEM!!!!

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Kid? ya wish you are obviously were dropped on your head kid lol. and for your information Saints Row The Series is not for kids its for adults who are I'm guessing more mature then you will ever be! Um linkyshinks I understand all the ninty negativity, I do.

But you're missing my point. Child friendly games are one thing and you're right the wii U with mario et al has or will have the very finest child-friendly games.

I have no problem with that.

What I am saying is that most of the games on PS360 are for children. Except they also have comedy dildos as weapons.

Something has gone wrong. My point is cultural and not specific to games.

Burtons batman is a classic, Nolans batman with or without heath ledger is a childrens film (and nicholson was a better more authentic and more entertaining joker)

It really is a film for people with child level intelligence just as cod or halo or whatever (however fun) is a childrens game marketed at children (and played my many adults).

No developer cuts the kids market out. Ask sony or microsoft: do they want children playing their consoles?

There is a difference between a good game that is child friendly and a kid's game that isn't but will be played by kids and marketed to kids anyway.

I despair at the situation we are in and I'm very upset with gaming across the board for continuing to fail to grow up emulating stupid (bad) films like PG13 rated batman for manchilds.

Really I get the nintendo negativity but this is my point: saints row like wotsisname said represents everything that's wrong with gaming.

There is no reality where you will find me guffawing at a dildo while wasting my life playing saints row.

Just not gonna happen. Haven't got that much time to waste. When I think what age was I that I did? 14 maybe?

Genuinely glad we are not getting it. as foolish as that may seem to you and I understand that, really.
