Nintendo Compare Wii U to Wii with Retail Leaflet on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Why Nintendo Wii U? A question that's been brought up by uninformed consumers. Nintendo seem to be addressing the issue with a comparison leaflet.

As spotted during last week's PAX East event by Geoff Keighley, the US branch appear to be starting to distribute a list of reasons why to consider a Nintendo Wii U if you've played or own the original Wii.

Within the comparison chart are MiiVerse, Nintendo TVii, Wii U Chat, HD graphics and Off-Tv play. Though a number of these are self-explanatory, others are still somewhat ambiguous - TVii? Miiverse? For the unaware consumer these could be practically anything, though still useful to have a retail comparison for those considering the leap from Wii to Wii U.

How do you think Nintendo should address unaware consumers that the Wii U is a different experience?

OMG, pathetic, but 100% necessary. What a weird thing it is to have to do that, but it makes total sense regarding the Wii U.

Now let's hope they do that with advertisements and the like.

You wanna go here if you likes Prons. [url]

Sales would pick up if they just rebrand n relaunch the console (with Proper advertising) All confusion would be cleared up

Idiotic! As mentioned in the article people don't know what these terms are, i hope that this is a leaflet...it looks more like a poster than a leaflet/pamphlet.

I wonder if they put that out in the UK and Canada if they would include the Wii Mini or would they be too embarrassed to note how shit it is!

It would be great if EVERY game had off-TV playing (LEGO City comes to mind), but not every title has that function.

Definitely - should ideally have been a global/built in function with some sort of switcher (TV/GamePad view) for devs who don't want to build extra off-TV features.

Should have also included off TV support for ALL existing Wii software - would have been a definite bonus.

This leaflet is useful, yet still leaves some of these things ambigious. Instead of "Off TV", say "Plays selected games without the TV", instead of just "Miiverse", have "Join other Nintendo players in Miiverse social network online" - etc
