Nintendo 3DS Firmware Update 5.0.0-11 on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Your 3DS needs a little feeding, and Nintendo have the latest nourishment to replenish the portable hardware with the latest system update.

Released on March 25th, the firmware takes the Nintendo 3DS up to version 5.0.0-11 after hovering in the 4s throughout last year. Changes include the ability to run the "Download Later" feature without closing the eShop app and the ability to download software update in the background, like on Wii U.

As usual there have been "further improvements to overall system stability" to improve the user experience.

Have you download the latest firmware update for Nintendo 3DS?

Good to hear, I hated how the DLL feature held you hostage on the eShop. It's like what's the point of doing it later if I have to come back here to finish it up anyway?

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

well this just screwed my brand new 3ds. now after 5.0.0-11u i'm unable to access the eshop. I can play the games and apps that I have no problem, but not able to access eshop breaks 3ds for me, since i have imported my device from the US and full retail games on the eshop are my only means to get games at a reasonable price. nintendo has no presence in my country and this just makes me so angry.

Well try contacting Nintendo about it, the problem may be the fact that it sees your 3DS does not match the region you live in. Sorry to hear this happened to you but ask Nintendo how this can be fixed.

What do you mean? You didn't have to be logged into the eShop to download later. It would just download in the background later when the system was closed and idle.
