Nintendo have listened to the onslaught of of Miiverse comments requesting a release for Earthbound outside Japan and have confirmed plans to release the much loved game in North America and Europe.

During Nintendo Direct today, the company president confirmed that the game, which stars the adorable Ness, is being localised for a release in both regions by the end of 2013. The game already touched down in Japan last month and after almost two decades will finally see a release in Europe.

This was the best news for me. I hope they don't take too long in localization.

I just shat bricks.

ABOUT FUCKING TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Miiverse is the best thing to happen to gaming ever. Smilie

I wonder what will be the next fan movement though. 50hz to 60hz? Done. Earthbound? Done.

An amazing game. If you have never had the chance to play it, definitely pick it up! I'll be happy to play it again!

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.

This is all around amazing news, because not only are we finally getting the game they refused to release in the west for so long, but it's all thanks to Miiverse that it's even possible! The amount of amazing things Miiverse will do for Nintendo and its fans are only just beginning, an utterly fantastic service that's already living to its potential.

I'm just praying like Paula that they don't change the music or any dialog. If they didn't solve the copyright issues and just replace those things with new stuff... it won't be the same game that I love.

Either way, I'm so pleased that so many more people will get to experience this game that will be a masterpiece or a masterpiece with a band-aid on it.

Like video game music?!
