New Okami Announcement Teased on Twitter on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom's official Twitter account has teased news on the popular Okami series for next week.

Translated by Gematsu, the tweet promises hope for fans of the popular action/adventure series, with announcement planned for the week starting April 29th through to May 5th.

Hello, this is Okami news. Sorry I've been kind of out of touch lately, but I have the feeling we'll be able to drop a fresh announcement like WHAM! around the beginning of Golden Week, so please look forward to it. Right now we're on track with preparations.

Japanese magazine Famitsu is also teasing an announcement for its next issue that could be related to the potential Okami revelation.

What are you hoping for in a new entry in the Okami series?

A new Okami game was the last thing I expected to hear about in the near future.. so I won't get my hopes up. No matter what it is, even if it's just some cool merch, I'm looking forward to the announcement!

I'd fucking hope not, you would think Capcom learned from Square-Enix that teasing an announcement (or worse, doing a website countdown) for a beloved series for which fans are begging for a sequel when it's actually not is a very bad idea.

Hope it's a 3DS game, but expect a next gen console version that's still in the planning stages. Very slim chance of a Wii U game if it's running on Panta Rhei, a reduced MT Framework version is far more likely.

Sven: I too would love to see this however there's nothing currently in the works along these lines. Okamiden was a stab at doing more with the franchise and I'd encourage you to check it out if you haven't.

NOOOOO DON'T JYNX IT!!!! I say Okami for 3DS OR the Wii U. Those 2 formats are PERFECT for what the game is known for.

Im fine with Okami HD for wii u and leave it at that.... i really feel Okami gets more praise than it deserves. yes its pretty, but thats about it.

Okamiden HD was on the WiiU eShop rumour list last year, I wonder if anything will come of that?

If they remake that game with graphics similar to Okami (obviously in a cuter style to still fit the theme of the game) and with much better draw distance/animation and without framerate problems, I'd totally be up for that. I always thought Okamiden was way too ambitious for the DS, despite being a fantastic game on its own and actually pushing the system to its limits.
