Sonic Lost World Announced, Exclusive to Wii U and 3DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Responding to the eternal question, "Where are the 3rd party exclusives?", Nintendo president Satoru Iwata formally announced Sonic: Lost World. News of Lost World found its way onto the net yesterday, when Sega trademarked the title in Europe. Nothing else was known about it though.

We still don't know much. Iwata stayed tight lipped on the new Sonic game. Well, other than that it would be exclusive to Wii U and 3DS. The news broke on what seemed to be a screenshot from the forthcoming game, which looked very similar to Mario Galaxy, a zoomed out spherical planetoid.

That's all the news we have for now. Here's hoping Sega can break the dreaded Sonic cycle!

I will definitely be getting this. I love that Sonic games are now exclusive to Nintendo systems!

Agreed, for the most part they've always been enjoyable with only a few exceptions. But given the name of this title I can't help but think of Sonic running from T-Rexs & other giant dinosaurs.

Finally!!!! Been waiting forever for a new Sonic. Would be better if the 3ds had it's own Sonic games rather than console ports though :/

I still hope for a open world Metrovania Sonic...
I really think it could work.

The key would be for the upgrades to focus on movement types - stay well clear of weapons.

That is not like super mario galaxy, the planetoid Idea was taken from Sonic CD which was made in 1993. Mario can't take the credit for everything.
