Super Luigi U Heading to Retail, New Playable Nabbit Announced on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

During Nintendo Direct today, the company confirmed a release date for Super Luigi U, plus revealed a new playable addition.

Super Luigi U introduces a burst of new nippy, quick levels to the Wii U platformer, with Luigi using his own abilities - a higher jump but with slippery feet. As well as multiplayer features with a group of Toads, there'll also be the inclusion of Nabbit as a playable character.

He won't be able to use power-ups but will be invulnerable to all enemy attacks in multiplayer only.

The upcoming game will be available in two flavours - a DLC pack for those who own Super Mario Bros U, out June 20th, plus a limited edition retail/disc version hitting the market on July 26th.

What are your thoughts on Super Luigi U? Will you be downloading the upcoming game on Nintendo Wii U?

Even though I own NSMBU there is no way I can pass up on the physical limited edition version of the game (which doesn't hit stores until August 25 in North America).

Exclusive green Super Luigi box!

I hope this won't give the game a €40+ price tag! I'm looking more at €20 max. I might get the retail disc if the price is the same for both versions.

And is this the first time they confirm multiplayer?? I didn't know it was coming!

Interesting that it wasn't priced in Europe. For North America they priced the download as $19.99 and the retail version as $29.99.
