Wii U Sits on the Sidelines with no PES 2014 Release on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Footy fans may need to pick a different platform for a fixture as Konami has confirmed that PES 2014 will be skipping Nintendo Wii U and 3DS.

With an annual FIFA uncertain for Wii U, there'll also be no Pro Evolution Soccer installment this year too, according to PES European community manager Adam Bhatti. There won't be ports of PES 2014 on Xbox One and PS4 either.

Bhatti doesn't want to let down current generation fans by simply "making the nextgen version prettier. We shouldn't have that mentality, and you shouldn't expect that. Aim higher".

PES 2014 was one of the titles we predicted would be available on Wii U this year.

What are your thoughts on the lack of Wii U or 3DS support for the latest major football titles?

Dear oh dear....Konami really could have cleaned up by being the dominant football sim on the Wii U...why skip it...unless they are admitting that the Wii U is next gen! :O

maybe there just isnt a strong sports game need among Nintendo gamers, i know i avoid them like the plage....

I for one don't grab the latest FIFA/PES, if I do it's usually the < £5 ones sold at CEX etc.

Looks like it won't much of a loss for WiiU owners...
