E3 2013 | Unannounced Character for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Nintendo Wii U

Donkey Kong and friends return in Tropical Freeze - producer Kensuke Tanabe explains the new concept.

The simian hero will be tackling a Viking horde in the new games, with a walrus as the boss character. A line-up of sea creatures were naturally selected to represent Viking folk, and these new enemies kick the DK crew off their own island. It's up to Donkey Kong, Diddie and Dixie to travel multiple islands along the way to try to return to their home turf.

Fancy Furries? The new team worked on getting Donkey Kong's fur "just right" in the new game. There'll also be an unannounced character making an appearance - to be confirmed at a later date - and each of these will have their own unique abilities.

In a throwback to Super Mario Bros 2, developer Retro Studios has added the ability to dig up items from underground - pulling up secrets in key spots.
