Atlus's Parent Company Faces Bankruptcy

By Jorge Ba-oh 28.06.2013 2

Index Corporation, the parent company behind developer Atlus, has filed for bankruptcy in Japan with investigations of fraud.

The company, which took the reins from Atlus in 2010, have begun "civil rehabilitation procedures" with a 2.45 billion yet in dept and lower than expected figures overseas.

The group is still looking to expand and develop the gaming aspect of the business, currently seeking a sponsor to take control. However despite the filing, games such as Etrian Odyssey Untold: Millennium Girl will still continue as planned.

What are your thoughts on the news of the change in Index's fortunes?

Is the future of Atlus in jeopardy? What's going on there? Could you tell us more, Adam?
They brought some great games to Nintendo's consoles. Not Etrian Oddyssey, it's hard and repetetive after a short while (I own part 1), but I hope they may continue creating games...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!
