Earthbound Out Today on Nintendo Wii U

Earthbound Out Today on Nintendo Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

A surprise announcement from Nintendo Europe today as the SNES classic EarthBound is now available to download on Wii U.

Quite literally out of nowhere, Nintendo launched a mini Nintendo Direct with bite size morsels of downloadable goodies, including a surprise for those wishing to play the classic RPG for the first time. The game was confirmed for a European release earlier this year and is now available to download from 5pm BST today.

A traditional RPG released on the SNES in 1993/1995, Earthbound (known as Mother 2 in Japan) recalls the tale of four characters, including Ness, who possesses strong physchic abilities. The group embark on a quest against invading alien forces.

Will you be grabbing hold of this much loved RPG on Wii U?

I've never played it before, but I have been wanting to for years! Glad it is finally available for download. I will be downloading as soon as I get home!

It's an incredible game! I hope you enjoy it! Embrace it's ridiculousness...

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.
