DLC Options Confirmed for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom have confirmed plans for the upcoming DLC packs to launch alongside Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies.

There'll be three costumes available for players to download: A schoolgirl outfit for assistant Athena, a casual look for Apollo Justice and Phoenix Wright's classic suit from the original series. These will be free until August 15th and cost 150 Yen (£1/$1.50/€1.10) thereafter.

There'll also be a Deduction Quiz DLC episodes, the first of which is available in the game as standard, with three remaining parts to be released on August 1st, 8th and 15th, each costing 150 Yen.

Those wanting a little more can tap into a brand new case know as "Special Chapter: Turnabout Return", a chapter that links Apollo Justice to Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, spanning Phoenix Wright's first case after coming out of retirement. Wright is hired by a killer whale trainer, dressed as a pirate, to defend her whale from a murder charge. Odd, but certainly an intriguing extra!

DLC seems pointless for whats to be a download only game, since DLC is really just a way for developers to atleast make some money from secondhand sales.... but this did get a boxed release in japan...

I don't know if I like this news or not. On one hand I can never say no to more cases in Ace Attorney, but on the other hand it seems to be releasing suspiciously soon, almost as if it was finished before the game came out. Smilie

Yes, but on the other hand, would you rather developers finish sections before the game comes out and then wait 6 months to release it to make it seem less suspicious?

Touché, but I'd find it hard to believe a developer would pretend to make day 1 dlc seem like real dlc.

Doesn't Capcom have a rep for fishy DLC, or am I thinking of someone else?

At any rate, I'd gladly pay for additional episodes, but costumes and quizzes seem a bit pointless.

Capcom absolutely has a rep for fishy DLC, all the dlc characters in Street Fighter X Tekken were just unlock codes, amongst a lot of other things.

Still when it comes to Ace Attorney, I think I'm happy to support the series in any way I can, especially as a member of the western audience.

As for costumes they're free for a few weeks in Japan, hopefully they will be here too.
