Disney Trades Star Wars and Iron Man for Disney Infinity on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Reports have confirmed that Disney passed on Star Wars-licensed titles and an Iron Man game in favour of focusing efforts on Disney Infinity.

Disney, who holds the rights to the Star Wars franchise, had the option to produce multiple space-based titles after purchasing Lucasfilm earlier this year. According to Wall Street Journal, Disney Infinity is the prime focus on the company's gaming division this year, costing more than $100 million USD to produce.

The obvious competitor for Disney Infinity is Activision's hugely successful Skylanders series, earning the publisher in excess of $1.5 billion.

Will you be leaping into the Disney Infinity experience this year?

This is exactly the sort of reasons why Disney owning so much is sucky for consumers.

Neither Marvel nor LucasFilm/Arts should have been bought.
