Nintendo Character Profile | Falco Lombardi

I AM Falco… What? You've never heard of me?! Prepare to pay the price! Falco Lombardi
The Falcon with skills of a martial artist…and the temper of one too!
Profile by Robert Ferguson [ Rob_F ]

Introduction
Falco Lombardi is a member of the Starfox team and definitely has a short temper.  He is also a pilot of an Arwing ship, the fighter craft that is used by the Starfox team.  In addition, he is actually Fox McCloud's closest friend, which might surprise many…
Statistics
Age: 27 (apparently).
Species: Falcon, which is kind of obvious as the name gives it away!
Location: All around the Lylat System.  He travels around in his Arwing, either looking for trouble or (highly paid) work.
Birth: Unknown.  Sometime around the Fox's birth, that is for sure.
Main Features: Falco is covered in blue feathers, except round the eyes where he has red feathers.
Clothing: He nearly always wears the same clothing: A beige waistcoat, brown trousers and some nice silver space boots.  They are probably what make him jump so high in Super Smash Bros Melee!  He has, though, also been known to at times sport some extremely retro-looking leathers…and has been rumoured to stick out his arms (wings?) and say 'Heyyyyy!'.
Concept
He is a mercenary in the Starfox team and has the most aggressive and arrogant personality by far.  Falco absolutely despises the evil scientist Andross and believes that his purpose for existence is mainly to disrupt his plans.  However, he has temporarily left the Starfox team due to a lack of available work.
Appearances
Mr Lombardi's role-call is the same as Fox McCloud, bar the Super Smash Bros. showing, and he only has a small role in Starfox Adventures.  Here is a list of Falco's appearances so far:

  • Starwing (SNES)
  • Lylat Wars (N64)
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee (GC)
  • Starfox Adventures (GC)

  • Best Appearance
Starfox Adventures.  **SPOILER ALERT** Right at the end of the game, Falco turns up when Fox looks like a goner against Andross.  Falco then proceeds to plant bombs for Fox to pick up, hurl at the nefarious scientist and, naturally, save Dinosaur Planet.**SPOILER ALERT**
    Don't Mention...
The annoying squeaks and sounds he made throughout Starwing (Starfox to non-Europeans).  Plus, when you actually bothered to make the effort to save him, he would spurt "Mind your own business Fox!" right in your face.  How is that for gratitude?!  So aggravating was this that the temptation to let the enemy overpower him was so strong...
    In closing...
Falco is arguably the most impressive pilot in the entire Starfox team, even if he does have a nasty temper that leads him into trouble.  If Fox did not have Falco, though, Andross would have destroyed the galaxy a long, long time ago.  It is therefore a real shame that Falco never seems to get the roles he deserves and perhaps that is another reason for him leaving the rest of the team behind to go solo.  No screenshots of Starfox Armada / Starfox 2 have been released featuring him as of yet, but with baited breath we wait...Come on Nintendo, we want more Falco!
