Zelda Producer Aonuma Would Decline Working on Mario on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Aonuma was recently asked about what other franchises he would work on aside from Zelda. It seems Mario isn't one of them.

Speaking to Kotaku this week, the producer of The Legend of Zelda, Eiji Aonuma, was asked if he would be keen to tackle another franchise at some-point. Interestingly, he revealed that it wouldn't be Nintendo's equally popular series, Super Mario Bros., as he feels he's "not any good at that type of jumping game."

Ever wondered why 3D Legend of Zelda games have lacked a manual jumping function? This could well be the reason why.

However, Aonuma feels that Pikmin could be more suited as it sits closer to Zelda, however if he did work on Pikmin it "might turn into a Zelda game". Will Aonuma jump onboard another franchise then? Perhaps, but "Zelda is the main thing I'm really interested in", he stated.

Would you like to see Zelda elements bleed into other Nintendo franchises?
