Nintendo Responds to 3DS Firmware Update eShop Issue on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo has responded to issues some 3DS users have been encountering after the latest firmware revision.

A growing number of those who upgraded the 3DS software to the latest release have noted how the eShop has become inaccessible. The reason being, according to Nintendo UK, the sheer volume of users linking the Nintendo Network ID to the existing eShop account.

We are working to solve these issues as soon as possible and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your patience.

Have you experienced any issues with the Nintendo 3DS update?

Based on my own experience I would agree with Nintendo's explanation.

I downloaded the update as soon as it came out. Afterwards I couldn't access the eShop (it would never get past the logging in/ID syncing page). I decided to go to bed and when I tried it again the next morning I had zero issues and haven't had any issues since.
