16-Bit Kart Racer Adds Wii U Stretch Goal on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Fans of retro racers can now pledge support for a Mario Kart and Wacky Wheels-inspired indie Kickstarter Project.

Known as Super World Kart, the game is a mode-7 style 16-bit racer designed though for more current tech, boasting a 16:9/1080p HD resolution and support for various different platforms including OUYA, Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and Linux. The Wii U edition, a stretch goal, was also added recently.

Super World Kart features drift-boosting, collection goals, analogue movement, star rankings, achievements and hidden characters - a recipe for racing success.

What are your thoughts on the project and concept - will you pledge?

There have been so many SMK clones over the years, none quite as good as the original although Konami Krazy racers on GBA came close, that I am always scared of seeing the end result on such games.
