Shadow of the Eternals Project Still Alive on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Precursor has confirmed that Shadow of the Eternals is still very much alive, but is slowly taking shape.

The project, which wasn't successful in two separate Kickstarter campaigns, was put on hold last year, but is currently in a more planning stage. An announcement in the official forum states that the team will continue to "upgrade and keep the forums running", whilst "potential options and directions" are plotted out.

The project will remain active, however "there probably won't be any major news or updates for a while yet" as the team acknowledge that there's a "lot of work ahead" for Shadow of the Eternals.

Agreed - though the situation with the studio itself is looking rather shakey, so not sure if Nintendo would be too confident to invest.

Does anyone know if Nintendo made the copy write renewal on time for Eternal Darkness? I'd LOVE for this AND either an HD port/Director's Cut (Denis had said they had to cut certain material due to 9/11 happening) or sequel to Eternal Darkness.

This is good news & hopefully Nintendo is one of the groups helping out to keep it on PC & Wii U exclusively!!

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

I want this to happen so bad, and if it was an Exclusive that would be awesome!

Nintendo do, what all others don't.

Nintendo could buy the studio for a dime at this point. They really really could do with some strong storytellers making horror games. Its an genre very undercatered too by Nintendo.

Unfortunately though, I just dont see how this company can do it allone. Their (real) legal battles with Epic over the Unreal engine proved costly to them. And the (still evidenceless) smear campaign by Kotaku made it hard to get much public support.

Despite the bad-rep the company heads have these days, I'd like this game to get finished. Eternal Darkness, whilst not amazing, was something unique and a spiritual sequel would be fantastic.
