This morning Nintendo released third quarter financial results, confirming profits for the last nine months, but with a loss still anticipated for the year overall.
In the nine months of the current fiscal year, ending December 31st 2013, Nintendo posted revenues of 499.1 billion yen ($4.8 billion USD), a decrease of 8.1 percent compared to the same period last year, with profits of 10.2 billion yen ($98.7 million), down 29.9 percent from the year previous.
Despite showing profits for the last nine months, Nintendo has forecast losses over the year as a whole, which ends March 31st 2014 due to "seasonal factors" and lower-than-anticipated Wii U sales figures.
The reason for the drop is mainly attributed to the Wii U, which sold 2.41 million units in the period. With that in mind, Nintendo are expecting to sell less than 400,000 Wii U consoles between January and the end of March.
Do you think Nintendo can bounce back after its current financial results?
