Rumour: New Mulitplatform Sonic the Hedgehog for 2015 on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

A promotional poster at a toy fair last week highlighted what appears to be a new Sonic the Hedgehog title in the works for multiple platforms.

SEGA's flagship franchise has been due another multi-platform entry since Sonic 4: Episode II, Sonic Generations and the more recent Nintendo exclusive, Sonic Lost World.

Spotted in a poster on toy maker Jazwares' booth last week was the mention of a "New 2015 title TBA" on Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One. SEGA have yet to comment or announce any forthcoming projects, so it's currently in rumour mode for now. That said, a new Sonic the Hedgehog game is practically a given - the only question is, when.

what was the big deal about sonic becoming a nintendo exclusive if it was only for one game.. i really give up, not on nintendo, just all game companies, everything they say is bull.

I was disappointed with the demo for Sonic Lost World that i played. However i still have hope that a another title for Sonic will be as good as Colours was. I don't understand why they are always so inconsistent with quality.

I'm inclined to think that Sega concentrates too much on Sonic - and neglects many other great franchises in the process (such as Shining Force, Panzer Dragoon, Nights etc...)

The deal was for three games. "Sonic Lost World" and "Mario and Sonic at the Sochi Olympic Games" were the first two. The third is still TBA, however. (His Smash Bros. appearance was confirmed to not be one of the three).

I know it's late, but it sure would be nice if Sega released the HD versions of Sonic 4 Ep I and II for Wii U complete with the lock-on Metal Sonic content. Maybe include some exclusive additional content and improvements on top of that. That would be pretty awesome considering they reneged on releasing Ep II for WiiWare.

I don't get that, either. They made such a spectacle of it, but it's not that big a deal if Sonic Lost World was the only exclusive they're going to do.

What makes it worse is, if history is any indication, this "Nintendo exclusive" will show up on competing systems with additional content and features.

I hear you. You can't take anything these companies say at face value anymore and it's frustrating as hell. Their word means crap.

Chance favors the prepared mind.
