Could Phantom Gate Trademark Be Linked to Pokémon?

Trademark hunters have spotted an intriguing new addition to the Japanese database for a possible Pokémon-related project.

In December 2013 Nintendo and Pokémon developers Game Freak and Creatures Inc filed a new trademark called "Phantom Gate". The ambiguous new title hasn't, at time of writing, been linked to any known game - but could be connected with a Pokémon release given the parties involved.

The use of "Gate" in the title could also hint at a potential new entry in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series given that the last title was known as Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth.
